The Equal Vocational Opportunities - Learning, AdVice, Employment (EVOLVE) partnership will develop and transfer new methods of supporting people from several disadvantaged groups to work towards employment by providing advice, guidance, support and appropriate vocational training.
Target Beneficiary Groups
The partnership will focus on the 7 most deprived districts in Kent, and will work with specific disadvantaged groups, including lone parents, disaffected young people, people with mental health problems, ex-offenders and members of the Black and ethnic minority community.
Background
EVOLVE supports groups disadvantaged in the labour market (socially excluded young people, lone parents, Black Minority Ethnic (BME), mental health recoverers, ex-offenders), located in deprived areas (Ashford, Dartford, Dover, Maidstone, Shepway, Swale, Thanet) to achieve a successful transition into employment in the Growth Areas of Kent (North Kent, Ashford) by responding to the employment/training opportunities offered by these areas.
Objectives
EVOLVE will promote the employability of disadvantaged groups through three types of services:
- Vocational training.
- Mentoring.
- Advice and guidance.
The DP will develop innovative vocational training opportunities, new types of beneficiary support and establish links with employers. Long-term collaborative structures (public, private, voluntary) for employment and training. Using its partnership of public, private and voluntary actors, it will develop a response to the themes of the Government.
