Equal-Works Debates: the online virtual activity programme

Welcome to the online virtual debate area of Equal-Works. The first online debate was launched on 21st November 2006 on BME issues with Trevor Phillips. Subsequent debates have featured John Bird, the founder of the Big Issue, on social enterprises, and Baroness Lola Young on gender equality issues. Further debates and discussions will follow till the year end. In the meantime, we welcome suggestions for future debates (click here to us).

Your contributions

The debates are open to all. You need to register to place comments/questions on the debate pages prior to the live debate. (Note: If you have previously registered, you do not need to register again.) You can also log on and question the speaker on the day - you can submit your points via your computer keyboard and the speaker will respond via webcam. Once the speaker is off air, you will be able to continue the discussion with other online users. The debate will be transcribed and made available on the site shortly afterwards.

If you participate in the online debate, your name and organisation will be displayed unless you specifically request anonymity when you submit your comment. You only need to register once for the site, and you can then participate in all future debates.
