Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids' Clubs is seeking to produce a toolkit to develop its work in supporting the setting up of new childcare settings as well as supporting those existing childcare settings experiencing issues relating to management and sustainability. It has long been recognised that within the childcare sector there is a lack of understanding that the provision of ‘paid for’ childcare is a business activity, dealing with such issues as employment and financial management. The toolkit, which Clybiau Plant Cymru Kids’ Clubs is looking to develop, will be promoted as a ‘Business Toolkit’ for the childcare sector as a whole. An additional aspect of the project will be to target business advisors to ensure they have an understanding of the specific needs of the sector in relation to Business Start–up. The project will therefore include an element of marketing and training regarding the end product.
