First Oracle is based in Birmingham and provides training and consultancy services to SME’s, large companies and schools and colleges. First Oracle aims to educate post-16 learners in work life balance issues using a variety of techniques. The four aims of the project are:

To carry out research into perceptions, concerns and expectations of Post-16 Learners with regard to Work-Life Balance in their future careers

To educate and inform Post – 16 Learners about Work-Life Balance

To provide a virtual environment for discussion, information, support and advice. This will include: Message Boards, blogs – text and audio, hints and tips, relevant links, a directory of employers who actively support work-life balance, web links to work-life balance champions in industry, news feeds, downloadable resources, a podcast, real-time interaction
4. To provide support through a goalsetting framework with an emphasis on Work-Life Balance.
These aims will be realised in the following way:

Development of a Learning pack to include Work-Life Balance scenarios, legal considerations and case studies

Development of a game to assist understanding of Work-Life Balance

A series of workshops to develop an informed and realistic approach to work.
