BEENIC: Balancing Employer and Employee Needs in Coventry, Adjust the Balance

Description

The introduction of the new Work and Families Act 2006 reflects the reality of a changing workforce and the need for organisations to adapt if they are to motivate, recruit and retain skilled employees.

This project aims to:

  • Engage with businesses in Coventry to provide support to help them implement flexible working practices and policies and to improve work life balance for their employees.
  • Assist businesses respond to the changing needs of their existing and potential workforce.
  • Identify the business benefits that flexible working can bring to an organisation.
  • Work with and identify champions of good practice in relation to work lifebalance within the City.
  • Establish a task group to lead on the work life balance agenda.

The project has been running a programme of events and workshops. These include two-day workshops, one-to-one company support and employer events covering a range of flexible working practices and policies.
