Common Ground
The DP had partners in Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands. The activity was mostly knowledge sharing, with study visits between the different partners. Close links were built with the Danish Partners, who were interested in Common Ground’s work on job-rotation. The DRTP aimed to explore ways of removing discriminatory organisational barriers with employers and initiate cultural changes, especially within the Human Resource (HR) practices of organisations
The main objectives were:
- Identification of barriers and emphasis of removing institutional barriers to inclusion including issues of stereotyping and questioning perceptions
- Changes in attitudes / cultures within organisations to combat inequalities and discrimination in the labour market, in particular challenging orthodox recruitment and selection practices
- Development of new inclusive methods to integrate those most removed from the labour market into or in return to employment.
- Development of new inclusive methods to ensure individuals are given the chance to progress and develop once in employment.
- Ways to maintain employment of immigrants and other socially excluded groups.
- Promotion of good role models (within a community, organisation)
- Multiplier training courses within the partner’s framework in order to spread good practice models to as many people as possible.
