ESOL Framework Project, ATLAS Scotland - Action for Training and Learning for Asylum Seekers
Description
In the space of eight months in 2004, 1204 candidates obtained the new ESOL qualifications and 157 practitioners received training. 13 ESOL units were developed at Beginners, Post Beginners, Post Elementary, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate level. Support materials for each unit were produced (student materials, teachers’ guides, additional activities packs, audio materials on CD). Thirteen packs of National Assessment Bank (NABS) materials for assessors were also produced. All of these materials were tested and made ready to be revised and rolled out to more of Scotland’s asylum seekers.
